You amazed me again!

We won! We are moving onto the second round. Once again, the Chinese Basketball Man Team has amazed the world. Struggled under the injury of Yao and Wang--the two best players in the team, the 12 Chinese men beated Slovenia--a team with five NBA players and got into the second round.

They certainly deserve my respect. That's also why I skipped classes for the past two days just to watch the game. It is good~~ It is good~~~

I love this game. I love our basketball team even more. They are the men with character. :)

Sunday afternoon

My girl is sleeping.
I am holding a cup of hot milk, and trying to do some work.
Calm, peaceful and joyful, nothing is better like this for Sunday afternoon.
Besides the little headache I get from time to time.

Sheares Hall

Laundry is FREE for Sheares. heehee
I just went to do my laundry and the cashcard slot is blocked. Initially I thought the machine was spoiled, but somebody came by later and told me that the hall made it free for the coming year.

Just met one of my very best friends when I was in the valley. That reminds me of too much beautiful memory. The crazily loud song we played everytime we took his car.

A new day

Neural network is an engineered artificial network that can predict the future values of a particular system. There are mainly two types--pattern recognition and regression function.

Basically, you teach the system to know more so that it will learn and know what will happen in future. lalala...

The darkest part of my brain tells me "someone has done exactly the same thing as you before. So why are you going down the same path?"

It is always easy to say but hard to do.

CSS + HTML on Ruby on Rails is not that easy to write.

I do believe separating the structure (HTML tags) from the presentation (CSS) is a brilliant idea, but building up the design of a website from scratch is not that easy.

Erm, I remember I have a long-lost friend who is really professional on website design. I hope I would be enlightened someday.

P.S there is a little black fish in a small water tank in our pantry. It has been there for days. From the despressing expression it is showing, I know it is starving. I will move the little fellow to the block B pond if nobody takes it back by tomorrow.

Sigh, I miss my Minolta. :) I will buy a canon next time since Minolta has fallen off the competition and does not produce cameras any more.

The future of our basketball

"This guy can fly!!"--Lebron James after the match between U.S and China.
"Which grade is he in? I don't mind taking him in Duke"--U.S team head coach commenting on JiangHua.

Chen Jianghua, has shown the world his unmesurable potential in the recent basketball matches with U.S and Germany. What is even more amazing about this guy? He is only 17! He moves fast, dribble the ball well, have a wide view on court and he can shoot. He is the future of our basketball.

Blissfully we only have him, but a lot more. Sun Yue--the 20 years old guard who went through rigorous training in ABA last year and blocked Anthony's dunk in the match with U.S; Yi Jianlian--19 years old 7.1 feet center, who grabbed 9 rebounds and played tough defence in the first half with the German... More will come. :)

World basketbal championship is around the corner. Looking forward to it.

P.S taking GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is no easy job. I only got miserable 400 odd in the verbal section. God bless my graduate school application.

Shame on them

We have a population of 1.4 billion, yet the Chinese Football Man Team is always a loser. They were the lousiest ten years ago and today they are still lousy if not worse.

Neither they have the strength to fight with the top teams like Brazil or France, nor do they even have the passion and spirit to win over some Asian teams like Japan or Korea.

They can only win teams like Thailand which cannot even get into the preliminary round of the World Cup.

4-0 oh yeah we won Thailand Again!!! So what. So shame on them!

Only when our corrupted football leagueand talent-spoiling incubation system are changed, then we may expect a football that deserves the cheers from its fans.

We love this game too!

I just the basketball match of China Vs U.S. I was very much impressed by the energy and enthusiasm our young players have brought out to the game. Although we lost by over 40 points, we did not have our top two stars--Yao Ming and Wang Zhizhi in the game. As mentioned by the CCTV host, we shall not fear to lose this game, instead we shall get a clearer picture of where our strength and weakness lies by fighting with the top competitor in the game. World Basketball Champion is around the corner, starting on August 19th in Japan. We will have some more warm-up matches in the next two weeks. We shall learn from the matches in Europe and Guangzhou, and do whatever it takes to practice the team play in the subsequent matches. By August 19th, we shall be able to give the world a fresh look with a healthy Yao and Zhizhi Wang.

P.S I tried three methods to view CCTV5 today.

1. online streaming by any centralised server--very much outdated. It takes forever to load and the view is never continuous.

2. P2P BitTorrent TV players

2.1 TUV player--very problematic from my past experience. The channel list often does not load properly during initialisation

2.2 PPLive player--takes quite some time to open the first view, as the initial buffering takes a long time. However the subsequent visual quality is good and the view is continuous

Azhe got a home

It is never better to be back to Hall. It feels to be such a place to stay. Although the fact that I tend not to join others for the happening activities makes me a bit lonely, still there is no place better than Sheares to spend my last few months of undergraduate at.

Seeing all the freshmen coming in, I wonder how I looked like when I was a freshman. The only thing I can remember is the torturing two-week orientation and being very much lost in communication.

Yet experience is experienced. I will certainly cherish my last semester as an undergraduate. Just it would be nice if I got someone to hug tonight.
